Meet The Team

Tim

After leaving school at 16, Tim joined travel firm Page & Moy which specialised in bespoke group holidays and in trips to major motor racing events. He moved to British Midland Airways and then onto Fairville Travel (later renamed Neilson Travel).

Tim always dreamt of owning his own business, so in 1986 he set up Barton-Knott Travel in the Nook in Anstey, Leicestershire, where he is still at the helm today.

One of Tim’s great passion’s is rugby and Barton-Knott Travel soon became involved in travel for the annual European tournament which the top flight clubs in Great Britain, Ireland, France and Italy played in. Over the following years, Barton-Knott Travel has provided travel for the majority of the major clubs and still works with many Premier League Rugby clubs today.

Tim also enjoys skiing and has skied all over Europe, USA and Canada.

Tim’s favourite holiday destination is Rio de Janeiro (and the harbour in Toulon on match day!)

Nikki

Nikki has over 20 years experience working within the travel industry. She also began her career at Page and Moy, before moving to Ilkeston Co-op Travel & then to Virgin Holidays.

However, Nikki missed life as an independent travel agent, so she joined Barton-Knott Travel in 2016 and has become a valuable member of the team.

Nikki’s gets great satisfaction from arranging dream holidays for customers, particularly Honeymoons or short trips away. Her favourite destination is Barbados, because of the beautiful beaches and friendly people; “Joining in with the locals at Oistins on a Friday evening is always so much fun!”

Destinations Nikki has visited include France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Greece, Cyprus, Malta, Tunisia, Egypt, Caribbean islands and Mexico.

Rebecca

Rebecca or ‘Bex’ as she is more commonly known as has been with Barton-Knott Travel for over 4 years and has over 18 years experience in the Travel industry.

Like Nikki and Tim, Bex also began her career at Page and Moy and has worked for Expedia and Tui, where she has gained her knowledge of European holidays, worldwide tailor-made itineraries and cruises

Bex enjoys talking to customers and finding out their requirements and turning their dreams into reality!

Her favourite place has to be Mexico; “I have been there five times. I love the beaches with turquoise waters, along with beautiful Mexican cuisine and a lot of contrasting excursions.”

Destinations Bex has visited include Spain, Cape Verde, Turkey, Cyprus, numerous Caribbean Islands and America.
